Dear Marcia:
This is to share info on Elizabeth Steffy, b. Oct. 19, 1769 in Lancaster County, PA.She married George Wampler, Jr., June 2, 1789, in Montgomery Co., VA. who was born Sept. 3, 1765, in Lebanon Township of Lancaster County, PA.They moved to Lawrence County, Illinois and sshe died on October 15, 1859 there and he died on December 11, 1859 there also and they are buried in the Emmons Cemetery, east of Birds, Illinois, not far from where my Grandpa Henry Kelly Steffy (1865-1946)lived.They were first cousins.
Her parents were Henry (1748-1838)and Louisa Steffy and his parents were George Wampler, Sr. (1736-1815) and his wife was Elizabeth Steffy (1738-1807), sister to Henry above. Henry is the son of Peter Wampler and the father of Henry and Elizabeth Steffy was Ulrich Steffy.
The Steffys and Wamplers intermarried in my line.I have written a book on the Steffys and the book is now out of print, but I have made copies and put them in a notebook of the original book.
George Wampler, Sr., was a Revolutionary War veteran.I have proved his line for SAR.
I hope this helps you.If you have further questions, please feel free to ask.
Gerald Steffy (My ancesters:Ulrich Steffy, Henry, John, Sr., John, Henry Kelly, Raymond Richard and then me) or (Peter Wampler, George, Sr., George, Jr., David, Anna Elizabeth, Henry Kelly Steffy, Richard Raymond and then me).
