Looking for information on Herbert Steele a British subject born in France abt. 1842. He returned to Staffordshire, England with his family. Think he married Jane Heath in Stoke Upon Trent in 1864.
Also think Herbert is living in Pittsburg at 1870 Census with wife Jane, and children Rosa, Fredk.W. and Ellen.
1880 Census, Pittsburgh, Herbert Steele born about 1842 in France, Parents born in England. Jane and the children are not with him. He is married to 'Mary" born PA, parents born PA. They have one child, James Steele age 16 born Pa, his mother born PA, his father's place of birth is left blank.
