Hi,
which Lancaster city - which County (there are two LAncaster cities)?
I do not know anything about George brother Jacob (b 1740/45 and died 1806/1807 in Turbot Twp. Northumberland Co., PA - thats a Gedcom information of the mormon files), so I cann´t help you really. This Jacob would have been born in the Staates, as his parents came to Northamerica in 1738 - found a note in IGS First Immigrant Ancestor List (www.feefhs.org/igs/fil/fil-s3.html), don´t know which ship. The information on the german side is from a man in Germany, after I found the connection to Lambsheim in the mormaon files.
Do you have any connection to a Andrew Steele? Does your family changed their name into Steele? Does your family has lines into Ohio?
I guess we both have too less informations untill know to find connections or not.
Angelika
