I would be grateful for any information on Elizabeth Steel who married Thomas Glaves in Rotherham Yorkshire in 1833.
She is listed in the later census records as a British Subject which means she was either the daughter of the British ambassador to Naples (she wasn't), the daughter of a British soldier (British and allied troops were present in Sicily at the end of the Napoleonic Wars) or she was born on a British ship at sea. Any clues to help solve this mystery are welcome.
