Ralph,
The only time I see Francis Steed in Randolph County is during the administration of his estate in 1803. The administrator was John Steed and that is the only person named. I have a lot of Cranford connections to Steed, but no Sanders. I see Issac Sanders is in the same seciton of Randolph Co. as Green Steed and Colin Steed (John Steed's brothers) in the 1800 census. I have no proof, but you could suppose Francis Saunders was named after Francis Steed. His grandmother or mother was a Steed? It happend quite a bit.
