Hi Dot,As yet I am not connected to your Stedmans, but do live in Kent, England and have Stedman connections. So may be able to give you some help. I noticed you mentioned Gravesend. If you go to my local archives on line at Medway Cityark, most church parish registers back to 1550 are free to view on line including Gravesend and those of Pocahontas (She died at Gravesend, more of her on the FOMA site same page, if you are interested).
