My great grandfather was Robert Francis Stedman. He was first married to Elizabeth O'Brien (O'Byran)in Chicago, they had a son named Edgar. Elizabeth died at a young age, then Robert moved to the Danville area met and married Martha Ann Tuttle and had three more children, Amy, Lucy, and Francis Robert. He immigrated from Gravesend, England as a teenager leaving his mother behind. His father's name was John, and from the info my late aunt gave us, John was a ship captain; his mother's name Elizabeth(?). His family ended up in Vermillion County, IL and many descendants are located in various states, IL, MO, IA, KY, IN, TX. My cousin and I are following up on the genealogy documentation we have, plus photos that others may be interested in. If anyone has any other research they could provide us, we'd be overjoyed. We are planning a trip to Danville to the cemeteries where our loved ones are placed. My maternal grandmother's name was Amy Stedman (Robert's daughter).
