Note: I am re-posting my STEDMAN interests due to a new email address & because I posted the orginal in 1998!

James Alfred STEDMAN (1765-1844) married Nancy Worthington COATES (1772-1850) c1790 in Jackson County, Georgia. They migrated to St. Clair County, Alabama by 1820. Their children: Martha married Wm. W. CLEMENTS; Larkin married Rebecca COLE; Charlotte married Gray BARBER; Elizabeth married Aaron HENDON; John married Ruth MAYS; James Jr. married Eunice GIBSON; Jesse married Rebecca SHUBERT; Mary Ann married George WASHINGTON; and Henry married Mary HANCOCK.

This family has been researched extensively and I would like to exchange info with others. THANKS.
