Your John Steckman could be my Grandmother's Uncle, if one of his sons might have also been a John. I remember my Mom saying that her cousin John Steckman visited my Dad and her after they were married, and that would have been after 1933. She said John had a brother, but that's all I know about his family. I've found out that Marie Steckman, from Finland, arrived in N.Y, and came through Ellis Island, on Nov. 22, 1899.She was on the ship, Cymric, that came from Liverpool, England. If your relative also came in the late 1890's, they might be related. If I find out anything else, I'll let you know.
