I have a similar interest in George Stedman (the seaman), George Steadman Jr., and George Steadman III. No new information to add, except that George Steadman III can be found in Walters Falls, ON in 1865. (Gazetteer and Directory of the County of Grey for the Year 1865-66). His son, another George, emigrated to the U.S.
I'm currently trying to find out more about George Sr. Is it possible he is George William Steadman, Lieutenant? See www.AgeOfNelson.org and "Commissioned Sea Officers of the Royal Navy 1660 - 1815.
