FRANCES F. STEADMAN
PINETOPS - Frances Fowlkes Steadman, 83, died Wednesday afternoon June 8, 2005, at UNC Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Danville, Va, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harvey Fowlkes. She graduated from Saint Mary's College in Raleigh, N.C. She was a long time dedicated member of the Pinetops Presbyterian Church, as well as was active in various civic and social organizations in her community.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11 at Pinetops Presbyterian Church.
Mrs Steadman is preceded in death by her husband, William Clarendon Steadman.
She is survived by two sons, William C. Steadman Jr. of Pinetops and Robert Bryce Steadman and wife Belinda of Raleigh; grandchildren, Talley Steadman and Katherine Steadman; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Steadman Powell of Wilson and Norma Bates Steadman of Myrtle Beach, SC; nephews, Charles C. Powell of Wilson and Dr. Rodney Powell of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; nieces, Mrs Ann Reynolds Steadman-Claude, Mrs Dorothy Steadman Saxon, both of Myrtle Beach SC and Mrs. Elizabeth Steadman Swain of New Bern.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Pinetops Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 112, Pinetops, NC 27864.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. prior to the funeral service at the Pinetops Presbyterian Church.
Arrangements are by Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro.
