I am also interested in the Staveleys of Skirlaugh, although I have only recently started to explore my family history. My great grandfather was Henry Thomas Staveley, a tailor, who was born in Skirlaugh in 1850 and subsequently moved to the Sculcoates area of Hull. His father was Joseph Staveley, a postal messenger, also born in Skirlaugh, and his mother was Ellen. I have copies of the censuses for 1871,1881, and 1891, which list the other members of Joseph's family.
If there is a link with any information which you may have, i would be pleased to hear from you.
Trevor Staveley
