Margaret Staunton was born in County Roscommon Ireland c1837 and her father was James Staunton b c1806. Her mother was Honoria Gaffney b c1803. Other siblings were Thomas, James, Michael, Mary Ann and Cecilla. Margaret and and her father came to NSW about 1838. Margaret married Thomas Byrne b c1821 at St Marys NSW in 1856. She died on 18 October 1918 and is buried at Morongla Creek NSW. Her death certificate suggests however that she was born in County Sligo Ireland. Her children were; Katherine, Bridget. Margaret, James, Patrick, Michael, Francis, William, Annie, Mary Ann, and Nora.
