My first step would be to obtain a copy of Hulda's death certificate, it should name her parents.
I found a Hulda Thomas age 17 in Somerset County in the 1900 census, her husband's name was given as Delose Thomas and he was thirty years older.
According to some listings on WorldConnect there was a Hulda Mae Statler who was the daughter of Lewis Statler and Elisabeth Seese born about 1886 and married to Richard Horner, she is listed with her parents in 1900 age 14. It maybe just a coincidence but Lewis is the son of John Statler and Barbara THOMAS.
The 1890 census was destroyed so they is no hope of finding your Hulda as a child with her parents in a census.
There is a Statler family in West Virginia but they are not connected to the Somerset County Statler families.
