The Staton name on the census was Staton and some kept the spelling as that others went with the name spelled Staten.
I have family memebers that are in North Carolina mostly and have spread out. have a few of the names below that I got from the census and some from family members.
I just want the younger generation to find out also who their relatives are so far I have over 700 family member names from both my mother and father side of the family.
Staten/Staton/Johnson/Bell/Ferebee/Freshwater/Wright/Spellman/Snowden/Dance/White/ and many more.
My Great Great Grandparents Henry Staten(b.March 1859) spelled Staton on the census maried to Mariah(b.April 1862) unknown last name.
Kids 1)Wiley(b.June 1880) 2)Ceasar(b.April 1885)
3)Charlie(b.1886) wife of Charlie, Leona Fenner(b.1886) kids Laura, John,Henry,Lucile,William,Hannah,Columbus,Charlie Jr,Roberta, and Oscar,
4)Moses(b.June 1887)wife of Moses Adlade(b.1888) kids Ned,Sammie,Agness,Enoch,Julius,Rufus and Woodrow
5)Emily
6)Daniel Demitrius(b. August 1892) wife Betty Wright(b.Dec. 24,1896) kids Mildred,Alonzo,Haywood,Banks and Buster.
7) James was the last known child born to Henry and Mariah.
If you know of these Statens please let me know some of these Staten kept the Staton name and moved from Beaufort and Little Washington NC, to Pitt NC, and Elizabeth City NC also some may have headed west to California.
