Think I was not clear on my last message. It was Andrew Stateler that I had not been able to find after 1840. I have a bunch of information on John's family in Winnebago Co., WI. where he settled after Ohio. He and several of his sons were in the Civil war and their pension records were a huge help. Along with the help of a cousin Janet Eiler who lives in WI. and has transcribed most of the cemeteries in Winnebago county and posted them on the internet.
Emma(Sandra's census of 1850, she was probably Emma May) married Merritt Busey and he was in Civil War. Since he seems to have died soon after their marriage Emma may have applied for a penson on his service.
I may send for his pension record. Have mailed form for the documents from Urbana Free Library. May take a couple of weeks.
