Bev, I just came across your posting on Peter Starr and i have an article on him.
STARR, PETER, farmer of Elbridge township, is a native of Berrien County, Michigan, where he was born in 1842.In 1876 Mr. Starr and family became residents of Oceana County.He has held various offices of public trust both in this and Berrien County.Since residing in Elbridge he has served the people as constable, school-inspector, health officer, and has been on the board of his local school for some twenty years, being now director of Dist. No. 4.June 13, 1869, he was married to Catherine A. Working, of Plymouth, Indiana, to which union two children, Laura and Kittie, have been born.Both of these young ladies have become successful teachers in the public school.Mr. Starr is recognized as one of the prosperous, influential farmers of his locality, and he and family enjoy the respect of a large circle of friends.
