Yes, he was listed under several spellings. Actually on the census images, in 1800 he was listed as Slider Sterns, in 1810 as Slater Starnes, and in Pendleton Dist. 1820, Sliter Starnes, in Hall Co., GA 1830, Slighter Starns and there in 1840 Slacker Starns. So I have learned to look for any spelling...lol.
