Starling family Bible
Hi All,
I'm trying to get some old Bibles into the right hands so I check ebay once in a while and then check the forums. I saw this Bible on ebay today with some family information in it and thought one of you should have it. Here's the description, the link follows:
'TRANSLATED OUT OF THE ORIGINAL TONGUES . . . BY HIS MAJESTY'S SPECIAL COMMAND.' PITT PRESS, JOHN SMITH CAMBRIDGE. VERY LARGE AND HEAVY WITH GOLD-LEAVED PAGES WHICH ARE A BIT TONED. BINDING GENERALLY VERY GOOD BUT A LITTLE STRETCHED BEHIND FRONTISPIECE FOR A COUPLE OF PAGES. PRESENTED TO WILLIAM STARLING OF LONDON 1839. NAMES AND BIRTHDAYS OF THE COUPLES' CHILDREN (6 OF THEM) LISTED ON INSIDE COVER. 1833 TO 1843. BOARDS ARE FULLY INTACT AND ALTHOUGH A LITTLE SCUFFED VERY GOOD FOR AGE. NO ILLUSTRATIONS BUT INTERESTING . . . AND VERY OLD. Payment by UK winners please by postal order, cash, sterling cheque, or PAYPAL. Buyer to pay postage and packing costs, on top of the final bid amount. For non-UK winners, I prefer payment either by Paypal or EITHER in US dollars or Euros CASH - mailed securely and well hidden as this saves bank charges for both of us. Figure on $1.47 US or 1.65 Euro being equal to a British £1.00, though these figures fluctuate according to the markets. I AM SORRY BUT DUE TO BANK CHARGES, WE CANNOT ACCEPT BANKERS DRAFTS OR DOLLAR CHECKS. I accept PayPal, the #1 payment service in online auctions!

I don't have any financial interest in any of these, I just hate to see treasures like this in hands other than family. Hope this helps!
Sincerely,
Paul Welcomer
