The information I have puts Zerubabel Starks being born circa 1760 in Southampton County VA. He married Martha ? (possibly Nee) and had the following children: Polly about 1780, Matthew about 1782, Lucy about 1784, child either stillborn or died shortly after birth Dec. 1786, Jesse about 1788, Reuben about 1790, Betsy about 1792. My dad always told me the family tale was that they moved from VA to NC to TN and then into KY. There is proof that Zerubabel died in Robertson County, TN about 1800. There is a Todd County newspaper account of Thomas Edwards, Polly' husband, and Reuben going into KY early in the 1800's and apparently the rest of the family followed along.
By the 1810 census they all seemed to be in Christian County, KY. About 1804 Martha married Benjamin Garris from Muhlenberg County, KY and her daughter Lucy married his son Benjamin O. Garris. If any of this is of help to you, good. If I can be of any further help please let me know.
