I just received this from a friend and would like to know if anyone knows anything about this family.
Will in Hanover date 1806 for Pettus Ragland said wife Eliz Davis
He list dau Ann Starke wife of Joseph Starke ,they have son John P.Starke ,grandfather Ragland left to him.
Pettus gives Ann his dau 100 ac. & Plantation in Hanover. And it has Wyatt Starke out of state 20 yrs and John & Eliz. Starke all children to Joseph Starke & Ann Ragland. And securites by RUEBIN MARTIN
Ruebin Martin married Susanna/Susan EADES ,sister to my Sarah Eades who married Richard Carter Chandler who came to Kanawha Co in 1812. Susanna Eades & Sarah both dau to Abraham Eades in Albemarle. Now Shepherd Eades Bro to these two Eades girls & son to same Abraham Eades. Shepherd eades b. abt 1760/70 married Mary Ann Norvell dau to benjamin .Shepard Eades & Mary Novell have Mary Ann Eades married James terrell STARKE .James died in Kanawha Co W.V. 1858, while visiting dau Charlotte Starke wife of Joseph E. Chandler b. abt 1817ish Kanawha co.W.V. James Terrell Starke's wife & Children lived in Covington ,Kenton Co.Ky. Newspaper in Kanawha Co.on James terrell Starke said he had lived at one time in Kanawha Co. Joseph Chandler was son to Richard carter Chandler & Sarah Eades From Albemarle co.va. James Terrell Starke was in charge of Shepherd Eades estate, in Albemarle. Was Wyatt Starke died Kanwaha ,something to these Ragland?? Father/bro/uncle to james Terrell Starke???
