I am looking for any information on WILLIAM J. STANTON, b abt 1845 in Berlin, Hartford Co., CT. He married MARY SQUIRES. They had two sons, Frank Squires, b 1873 and Edwin Stanton, b 1876. William and Mary are my step great grandparents.
William served in the Civil War. He was in Andersonville Prison for two years. I am told he died in The Old Soldiers Home in Montgomery TN after 1900. In 1900 he was in Bridgeport, Fairfield Co., CT and sperated from Mary.
I have very little information on him and would appreciate any leads I can get on him.
