John and Wm. Stansbury/Stansberry, born in MD, lived in OH
John Stansbury/Stansberry (c.1779 - 5 Jan 1867) was [first] married to Mary Hooker [“Polly”] (21 Dec. 1787 - 11 Oct 1828) on 28 Jan 1807 by Rev. Cromwell. Polly was the daughter of Samuel Hooker (16 Nov 1757 - 3 Oct 1842) and Rachel (Belt) Hooker (11 Nov 1767 - 7 Feb 1853). Her younger sister, Milcah, married John’s brother, William.
Milcah and Polly’s father, Samuel Hooker, received land in Greenfield Township, Fairfield County, OH, by a deed dated 1 Oct 1810 from Gen. Jas. Wells for 665 acres west of Hooker Station. On 24 Apr 1815, Samuel Hooker, of Fairfield County, OH, sold part of “Hooker’s Meadow Enlarged” to Zeb. Parrish of Baltimore County, MD. “Hooker’s Meadow Enlarged” was probably in the Reisterstown/Owings Mills area of Baltimore County, MD.
William Stansbury/Stansberry (c.1787 - post 15 Mar 1843 and pre 1 June 1850) married Milcah Hooker (born 17 Jan 1793 - pre 1 June 1850) on 22 Feb 1810 at the First Methodist Episcopal Church, Baltimore [City], MD. Milcah was the daughter of Samuel Hooker (16 Nov 1757 - 3 Oct 1842) and Rachel (Belt) Hooker (11 Nov 1767 - 7 Feb 1853). Milcah’s older sister, Polly, married William’s brother, John.
The parents of John and William Stansbury were Caleb Stansbury, Sr. (c.1760 - c.June 1846) and his first wife, Rebecca Cook (died post 2 May 1806). They were married on 31 Oct 1778 by Rev. Thomas Chase of St. Paul’s Parish in Baltimore, MD. Caleb Stansbury, Sr. died in Owings Mills, Baltimore County, MD. In his will, he states "I also give and devise until my three sons namely John, William and Caleb one dollar to each of them to be paid by my Executor.”
Caleb Stansbury, Sr., the father of this John and William, was not the Caleb Stansbury, Sr. (c.17 Dec 1754 - 17 Nov 1845) who married Elizabeth Shilling (c.1763 - 27 Feb 1831), lived in the Carrollton area of Carroll County, MD and is buried in Westminster Cemetery there, and was the son of John Stansbury and Anne Marie (Ensor) Stansbury.
I don’t know who the father is of Caleb Stansbury, Sr. (c.1760 - c.June 1846) that died in Owings Mills, Baltimore County, MD. His second wife was Mary Boring, and they were married on 16 Sept 1815 by Rev. Choate. His wife, Mary, was the executor of Caleb’s will.
