Carolyn -

Which Standlee's are in AR before 1800's? Who am I missing?

The TN & KY thing, though not completely impossible, however, certain not the same family, as some belive. The Standlee's I get into AR come directly from KY to IL only passing through the far north east corner of TN. Then from IL to MO, to AR abt 1833. I can document them in KY ass early as 1794 & follow them directly into IL, MO, AR...CA, ID, etc.

Before 1794 I can't seem to get my hands on solid documentation. The Family Legend is that Onicypherous (& all his carious spelling & shortened names) was said to be born in 1768 in Tyrone Co., NC. There are so many problems with this, as well as Tryone being a county for only 10 years, ceeding mostly to Mecklenburg, NC. No brith or death records were kepth this early. I can't find a John Standlee (who is the said father of Onicypherous) on any tax records in that county.

Long story short, I can find Onicypherous up in NJ before 1794 including an Onicypherous Standlee...though not the same but could be a realtion. I also can find John & David Standlee (actually spelt Standlee) in the Scott-Irish Augusta Co., VA records, eventually pairing up with the Larues. It is my belief that the John Standlee from England is indeed real, just a few more generations back. I belive that the John Standlee said to be the father of Onicypherous Standlee of either NJ or Va. John & David are found in pairs in many areas, however in VA they were actually business partners making me also conclude that they were probably brothers. So possibly that David had a John, then an Onicypherous or just the actual father of Onicypherous.

I am aware that there are probably close to 200 family trees where the "Inidian" wife is mention & John Standlee as the father of Onicypherous. However, no one has attached documentation or has been able to tell me where to find their information, other than so & so's tree.

I am with Carolyn! If you can link me up from Onicypherous to any one in VA, NJ, NC, or any other area before the United States formed offically in 1777, it would be greatly appreciated. If you would like more inforamtion on my research, please, feel free to contact me: pootiebutt@gmail.com

Carolyn has done great work on the Boren Bradley lines! She has a lot of information of those that lead to TX. She has been the biggest help for me. Thank you Carolyn.
