Hello Rachel,

Lydia is also my ancestor. My findings are generally in agreement with your posting with one minor exception. Lydia was born in Norwich, CT, which is Preston's westerly neighbor. I have seen references to both places but found her birth record in the Norwich Town Clerk's office. I'd be happy to send you a copy if you like. hbusey@gmail.com

She died in Benson, Vermont and had 10 children. My line was through her son Asa Meacham and grandson Willard [aka William] Meacham.

Do you have information on Thomas beyond what's in the Silver Book? I have his birth and marriage records, also from the Town of Norwich, and a reference in a DAR Lineage Book to his serving in the Revolutionary War. I would like to confirm that. A reference in the Preston library indicates he may have been a brick maker. He and son Asa are listed in the Williamstown, MA Census of 1790. (Lydia was married there in 1778.)

Happy to share whatever I have.

Hugh Busey
