A Standish descendant has done research on this family. Not much about this line- but Miranda appears to be the daughter of John G. Standish and Harriet Maxwell. John G. b. abt 1808 in Woodstock, VT married Harriet in 1826 in Woodstock, VT. He died in 1837 in Elba, Genesee, NY.
In the 1830 census, the John Standish family was probably Attica, Genesee, since he died in Genesee in 1837. Lists 2 daughters only as his children.

Children:
Laura-b. 1827
Miranda-b. 1828
Mary-b. 1830
Hiram-b. 1833
Oscar-b. 1835

In 1850 Hiram, age 16, was in Michigan- in 1860 still there with wife and his mother, who had remarried, Harriet Richards-age 57-b. NY.(suspect probably VT) In 1870 still in Michigan, now with his sister Mary- age 49 living with him and his wife.

The complete disappearance of Sylvester and Miranda Winslow from 1850-1870 is frustrating. I can't find them anywhere!

Of interest, perhaps, there was a John Winslow Standish, b. Woodstock, VT abt 1790. He married a Caroline Winslow Myrick.
