William Joseph Standerfer (s/o Joseph L & Mary Runnells Standerfer) was born Feb 1834 in Lee County, Virginia.
He married 3 women: Elizabeth Hanes Oxford (d/o Samuel Ailsey & Elizabeth Gilbert Oxford), Rebecca Pennington (John Dees & Rachel Zion Pennington), & Mary Ely Pennington (Levi & Elizabeth Zion Pennington).
William & Elizabeth had children:
John G born 1861 in Lee County
William J born Nov 1862 in Lee County
Mary Elizabeth born 4 Aug 1864 in Lee County
I am unable to find any marriage or death for John G, and I would love to have any info (or hints).
William & Rebecca had children:
Creed born 5 Oct 1866 in Lee County
RA born 5 Oct 1868 & died 16 Oct 1868 in Lee County
Minnie Lenore born 23 Aug 1870 in Lee County (******my ancestor)
I am unable to find any marriage or death for Creed, and again, I would love any help.
William & Mary did not have any children.
It should be noted that Rebecca Pennington was first married to Joseph Barron with children: James Francis, Virginia Elizabeth, Hugh Craig, Rachael Anna, William Nathaniel Gale, and Martha J Barron.
It also should be noted that Mary Ely Pennington was married to John Thomas Flannary with children: Elnna, Jemima B, Harvey J, Elizabeth Amanda, and Rebecca Ann Flannary. Mary Ely Pennington was also married to James W Richmond with no known children.
Lastly, Rebecca Pennington and Mary Ely Pennington are 1st cousins, with their fathers being brothers, and sons of Edward & Martha Flannary Pennington.
