Thank you Joan for you kind comments. I, too, am interested in the concept of obtaining the blessing of santification --- and agree with you that we need to study more about local and regional customs as we search out our genealogy.
I am preparing another article on Charity based upon this research but will post it within the week at http://hillcountryofmonroecountry.blogspot.com/ At that venue I can use photographs. Meanwhile if you've never been to Mississippi, you might enjoy some of the posts at Hill Country, the area where where Standefers lived.
