Hi Scotty, You didn't include any dates, or approximate dates, in your query. Anything that would narrow the playing field a bit, would help. Do you know when and where they died? Was it after 1917? That's when WV began keeping vital records. Death certificates should show the names and birth locations of their respective set of parents. Talk to all your family members, glean what you can from them. You never know when one of them has that little tidbit that will help you with your search. But, be prepared not all family stories will match exactly, time plays tricks on our memory cells. LOL Have you checked Carol Yarwood's site? It includes all variations of the spelling of Standefer, Stanifer, Standford etc. I see a query posted by someone that currently spells the family name like yours, Stanifer, but descends from William Standefer and Jemima Jones (early VA & TN) -- they are my ancestors.
