Hi, Jim,
I know it's crazy to respond to this after so long, but we had a medical crisis that has lasted these years.Right now I'm looking at the possibility that "Alley" Standard might have been the mother of Basil, Samuel, and Sarah Jones instead of the father. There is an Alice Standard in Rockingham Co., NC with sons the right age and room for the other 2 Standards of Caldwell Co., KY (James and William) that are there in 1820.In 1820 William also has a woman in his household that is the age as Alice, and we know that "Alley" was alive in 1818.Fountain Jones had a daughter named Alice, and Terry King had a granddaughter of that name.Allison Jones is referred to as "Ally" in the estate papers of her parents in 1828.
I've only found a William and a Henry Standard in the deed records of Caswell.I'd like a copy of Sarah and W. A. Jones's marriage license.Do you know how to find it?Is it in Caswell? The Basil of Caldwell would have only been 3 years old at the time.I take it that he was the youngest of that family.I'm hoping to go to a large library soon and see what's there.
Happy hunting,
Kathy
