Mr. William Stancil Dead
Mr. William Stancil, after an illness of several months, died at his home in Wilders Township Tuesday afternoon about two o’clock. At the time of his death, he was 68 years old, and for the past year has been an invalid, and while death was not unexpected it can as a sad shock to his family and a large host of friends throughout this section. The deceased was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church, and was a man of Christian character and gentlemanly behavior, being universally liked by whose who knew him. He is survived by three sons and one daughter: Mr. George Stancil of Wendell; Mr. Joe Stancil of Wilders Township, Mr. W.L. Stancil of Clayton and a Miss Sallie Stancil who was living with him at the time of his death.
The funeral services were conducted from the home Wednesday afternoon, internment being made at the Salem church burying ground. The News extends its deepest sympathy to the sorrowing relatives. – Clayton News
