Fascinating...my great grandfather Felix Haywood Stanard came to Mobile in the 1840's and eventually became a cotton factor. His brother Robert later came to Mobile and married Mollie Battles. Felix married Sarah Chandler. The Stanard brothers were from Orange Courthouse, Virginia. This is the first reference I have seen about another Stanard in the Mobile area at that time. If he had also been from Orange
we would have already known it. Probably a cousin if he were from Va.
