To Anne Stamps & Lucy Grisham-
Thanks for filling me in on my Jefferson Davis
Stamps grandfather. That was a minor interest for
me. I have recently returned from Norway, where I
am preparing to live in the next year. I lived in
Minnesota for a long time, and have always felt a
deep connection with Scandinavian, especially Nor-
wegian culture...On the AOL homepage it confirms
that the Stampe name indeed started in Nordic roots.

Does anybody on this forum have any information,
specifically relating to the Stampe Nordic origins?
There is a small town called Stamnes near Bergen I
saw on the map, but have not yet visited. Any infor-
mation in tis regard, would be GREATLY valued...

Regards - J. Craig Stamps
