Hi James- I can't answer that for certain for you- all I know is in the information I have on the Stamps, "The O'Kelleys and Their Kin", which includes the Stamps family of Virginia, the authors identified a Jefferson Stamps in Smith County Texas as a son of Henry Stamps, son of William and Frankey Stamps- my ggggrandparents, who came out of Virginia, lived in Green Co. Georgia, and Lawrence Co, Miss. Henry was a younger brother to my Patsy Stamps. Jefferson is listed as the youngest son born 1861 and was living with his Mother Martha Stamps in 1880 Census in Smith County. He would have been 19 at that time. I do not have anything further on him. You might try looking at the Smith County seat and see if they have a marriage record on him and also the cemeteries around Tyler if he was buried there. The Agriculture Census for the State of Texas may help you also. Let me know. I can fill you in on the older family if you find we are kin. Keep in touch. Lucy
