The Thomas Stampe who was imported to Virginia in 1638 is not the progenitor of our Stamper family.

The Stampe family has been well documented it appears. Check out: for more information on Thomas Stampe (sometimes known as John Thomas Stampe) who you mention in your message.

Our Stamper family apparently arrived in Virginia in the early 1650s from England. More research is needed in the Lancaster County, VA records to validate this.
