Mr. Simmons,
My aunt recently passed away & I am using her data.
I read with interest your reply (old one 2003) about the Stallworth/Thornton connection.
My aunt has William S. Thornton as Sallie & Matthew Thornton'sson. I see by your dates that would be impossible. & I'm sure it's not the Matthew(sig. of Dec. of Ind.) Matthew.
I see that one daughter married a John Lewis. And you show Nancy Thorton (dau. of William S. Thornton & Elizabeth Walker (by the way my aunt has all these names except the John Lewis). Nancy Thornton marrying a Abiah Robertson.
But you only showone child for Nancy & William S.
Mygg grandfather John Lewis Robertson was one of their children. It seemed strange to me the 'John Lewis' name & where that name might have worked intothe naming pattern, since names followedgenerations.
My aunt goes back one step further than you, with a Ellenna or Elena Mcnamarrah Marrying the King but has their daughter as a Nancy King .
I guess I'm also confused ( this line is confusing) with William Stallworth (my aunt has, being born in 1745) Wouldn't that have made he & Jemmia a little old for Sallie to be born in 1787. Or, is my aunt missing a whole generation??Or Could it be that that first child of the Stallworth's could have been Sallie. You have a blank. But, it wouldn't account for Willaim S. Thornton having the Thornton name????
I grew up near Columbus, Ms. & Dr. William Stallworth was our family dr. & he was related to my father's side of the family. He had a son name Billy King Stallworth.
It would be interesting to get your take on this. Hope you make sense of it all.
Thank you, Carolyn Robertson Perry
