Stallions in NC/TN

I'm looking for information on my ggggrandfather Mansfield Anderson STALLIONS. He lived in Blount or Sevier Co, TN most of his adult life except when he served in Confederacy. I found him at age 16 in 1860 Polk Co census (name was misspelled) along with a Rutha (45, his mother?), Matilda (23), Eliza (21), Alford (18) and Hannan (Hannah, 14)
Rutha may have been common law wife, because the adult male in the household on this census was Williams, Stalman (55). All are listed as being born in NC.
In 1900 Blount Co census, he has a Josie living with him who is listed as a niece (age 24)along with 3 other children: Cora, Isaac and Vestal. I can't make the census sheet out clearly but I think it says that Vestal is a granddaughter.
