John Stalker, 1777 was the son of Joseph Stalker and Hannah Albrects (Albright)
He married Clarisa Bradt in 1800 in the New Salem Reformed Church. They had Elizabeth, Edward, Albert, Joseph, Peter, Mary, Alexander, John, and Jane.
Mary Stalker, I believe, married Clinton Love b. 1804 in NY. In the 1830 census of Onondaga there was a Joseph Stalker living next door to Clinton and Mary. It is my belief that he was Mary's brother. There was an older woman listed in the household of Clinton and Mary, and I think it was probably her mother, Clarisa Bradt Stalker, who may have been widowed by that time, since John could not be found in that census.
Also in the same neighborhood was John C. Schomaker.
Clinton and Mary Love moved to Wisconsin, and in the 1850 census of Waukesha county we find in Pewaukee twp. all in the same household:
J. C. Schomaker 63, NY
Clarissa Schomaker, 64 NY
Alexander Stalker 40, NY
Cornelia Stalker 34, NY
John Stalker 18, NY
William Stalker 16, NY
E. B. Stalker 13, NY
Adeline A. Stalker 11, NY
James H. Stalker 9, NY
Alonzo F. Stalker 5, NY
Emma Stalker 1, WI.
This, I believe supports the theory that Clarisa Bradt Stalker married J. C. Schomaker and the families of Stalkers/Loves moved to Wisconsin together.
Also, and to add to the confusion, in this same census of Waukesha County Wi, in Muskego twp., we find J. C. Schomaker and Clarisa Schomaker living in the same resident as her son Albert Stocker (Stalker) with his wife, Clarissa, NE, and an 8 year old child, H. J. Fenton.
I would like to verify that Clarissa Bradt Stalker and J. C. Schomaker are the same people shown in the 1850 WI census as the ones shown in the 1830 census of Onondaga County, NY.
I would also like to know the surname of Alexander Stalker's wife Cornelia as well as Albert's wife, Clarissa and the unknown child H. J. Fenton.
