I have ancestry of Amanda E. Swaim, b Jan 25, 1842 in Indiana. She descends from NC branch of Swaim family. Her ancestors migrated first from NC to Ohio and by 1817 were in Indiana.

Her parents were James Madison Swaim, b 1817 in S. Boston, Indiana and Levisa Jane Keach. James was probably killed in steamboat explosion in Louisiana in 1849 (body never found).
