I have just seen your message and can offer you this
Catherine Stalker born August 1852 in the parish of Crieff, County Perth RD 342/2* - the entry read "Catherine, lf dr to Peter Stalker, Weaver, & Helen Taylor". The marriage of Peter and Helen appears in the same OPR under marriages reading "Peter Stalker & Helen Catherine Taylor - 17 December 1843"
I was interested in this because I have a Catherine Stalker in my ancestry who married Robert Anderson, a master grocer in Govan. I have been trying to trace her family back knowing that her mother was Helen because of Census records in 1881 when her mother was living with them. I have not been able to find any other birth of a Catherine to a mother called Helen and yet see that she and her mother give their place of birth as Paisley in that Census. Anyway, hopefullt you will find the information useful. And if anyone out there can help me - please!!
