The records are not forwarded to the new county. Thety start fresh with the year of formation. Wiliam Stalcup's land deed shows he did NOT serve in the Continental line. He appears to have served as a guard for the NC Commissioners in other records, which I have not seen but have the numbers. Observing the directions of the Act of Assembly in such ease made and provided for running out Lands. For just and fair plans thereof with a certificate to each annexed You are to Transmitt to my Office within the Time limited by Law.
