I am interested in Staines family history, and intersted to think there might be another branch of the Brombie]mby Staines in Jamaica

Henry Bevan Bromby Staines was born in Glasgow abt 1805 and emigrated to Wisconsin. His son, Henry Bromby born in the Gorbals, Glasgow in 1829 followed the gold to California, Australia and the West Coast of New Zealand, where there are many descendants,

now it appears that another brother John Brombie Staines (bn 1815may have gone to Jamaica about the same time

HBBS's father was born abt 1780 in Glasgow as Henry BROMBY, but changed his name to STAINES during his life time. I think that as well as his son, Henry going to USanother son John may have gone to Jamaica, and am following this up.
