From "Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia", vol. 8 - 1988:
"Joshua Stafford was born about 1725 in Beaufort County, North Carolina,
a son of John Stafford and his wife, Ann Wyatt (dau. of John Wyatt of
Virginia). He was married twice, but all of the children were born by
his first wife, Martha (maiden name unknown). She died in 1793 in
Screven County, Georgia, and on August 2, 1794 in Screven County, he
married Mrs. Mary Lane, widow of Thomas Lane of that county. The known
children of Joshua and Martha Stafford were:
(lists Joshua Jr. who married Margaret Ironmonger, but he was a nephew)
2. Robert (vol I) b. 1755, m. Jane Blair, dau of William.
3. Martha b. 1760, m. Henry Joyce (vol. I)
4. Ezekiel (vol 1) b. 1773, m. 1) Mary Rawls, 2) Mary Eastwood
It looks as though he would have been 69 years old when the second marriage took place.
Sorry I can't be of any help with William
