Good morning, thank you for your reply.
It has been a number of years since I made this post on the GenForum (Feb. 10, 2001) and since that time, I’ve learned that my Delilah Stacker (Stecher/Stacher) was the daughter of David Stecher (b. 23 May 1803 at Fallowfield twp., Washington Co., Pennsylvania) and Anna Marie McNary. These data came from Delilah Stacker Beckley’s death certificate and a book, A Stecher-Stecker Saga, written by Dr. Robert M. Stecher (1896-1972) published posthumously in 1977.
My David Stecher was the son of Lewis Stecher (b. 21 Oct 1770 in Forks twp., Northampton County, PA and died 24 Nov 1826 in Fallowfield twp., Washington Co., PA) and Maria Mellinger (b. 8 Aug 1772 – died 1865) whom he married 3 May 1792. – info from A Stecher-Stecker Saga, (p 20). I have yet to learn the names of the parents of Anna Marie McNary and her ancestry.
My David’s grandfather was Christopher Stecher and his great grandfather was Hans Melchior Stecher the immigrant born circa 1710 in Pfalz/the Palatinate, Deutschland and was a Pennsylvania colonist in 1732 – info from A Stecher-Stecker Saga.
The information I listed in my 2001 post (which I see contained an error – I miss called Delilah Stecher (born 1828 and daughter of Peter) by the name Talitha.
I do think I can help you. The information I obtained to make the 2001 post also came from the book A Stecher-Stecker Saga. The Peter I believe you are interested in is found on page 18. I’ll write it out for you below:
13. Peter³ Stecher (Lewis²) born 14 March 1794 in Forks Township, Northampton County, and died at Ginger Hill, Washington County. In 1817 he married Margaret Schneider who was born ca 1801. In the 1850 census for Carroll Township, Washington County, Peter “Stacker” was listed as a stone mason, Children, last eight in census:
30. i. Peter b. 8 Jan 1818 in Fallowfield Twp.
ii. Mary Ann m Frank Henderson.
iii. Sarah b. ca 1823
iv. Elizabeth b. ca 1826, unmarried, bur at Ginger Hill
v. Delilah b. ca 1828
vi. Joseph (Josiah in census) b. ca 1831
vii. John b. ca 1832, m Jane McCutcheon.
viii. Sydney (Sidney in census) b ca 1837, m Thomas Orr Scott.
ix. Rosannah b. ca 1839, m William Newkirk.
x. Margaret b. ca 1843, d in Monongahela, m John Holland
I do not know where Peter and his wife were buried. I have only been to Washington Co., PA once – there are a lot of cemeteries there. You may want to begin searching cemeteries in the Ginger Hill area.
I don’t know where Dr. Stecher obtained proof of the relationship that your Peter's (Peter³), son of Lewis, oldest son was Peter. But he does list the following information about Peter, son of Peter³ on page 27 of A Stecher-Stecker Saga:
30. Peter Stecher (Peter³) was born in Fallowfield Township, Washington County 8 Jan 1818. he died 17 April 1891 in Monongahela. He married 4 October 1848 Leah Deemer of Lisbon born 20 June 1827 and died 8 May 1888. Both are buried at Ginger Hill, Washington County. Peter had migrated to Zanesville, Ohio where he worked in a brickyard. Here he joined his brother in building houses. The 1850 census for Salem Township, Columbiana County, Ohio shows that Peter “Stacker” was a farmer with a household that consisted of his wife Leah, his daughter Mary M. and Margaret Deemer aged 25. In 1851 he and his family, driving a wagon and leading a cow returned to Ginger Hill. Peter served in the Civil War in a volunteer regiment.
Children:
i. Mary Margaret b. 8 July 1849 in Zanesville, Ohio; d. 20 Jan 1898, m James Mitchell.
ii. Sarah Joanna b. 5 Sept 1851 in Zanesville, Ohio; d. 14 Mar 1924 in Ginger Hill, Pa. m 22 Jan 1874 Henry Scott Hank, d. 1890.

ix. George Lawrence b. 15 Dec 1869.
x. Anna May b. 22 Jan 1873 at Ginger Hill, m 1896 John M. Hutchinson b. 1860, d. 1908.
The father of Peter³ Stecher, Lewis², was also the son of Melchior, the immigrant.
I hope this is helpful
