About 4 yrs ago Brian Ellis of 24, The Street, Brooke, Norwich NR15 1JT, wrote to me as he was interested in STACEY line originating in Thorpe Hesley, Yorkshire. You may be related to him. I have found the 1881 Census entry for John Stacey which suggests he married ca 1860 and if you have not yet found his marriage in the GRO index then this may help you. Incidentally there were 4 other STACEY men born in Thorpe Hesley ca 1830-1840 who appear in the Census and they may well be related to each other. If you would like details of the Census entries send me your e-mail address. Also I have a database of all STACEY family events in South Yorkshire but mainly to the East of Rotherham. But all STACEY marriages in Rotherham and Wentworth (which contains Thorpe Hesley) are in the database.
