Moses Stabler
I haven't posted in a while, still trying to figure this out-someone please help me untangle these names and families in SC.My line is through Elizabeth Knight Gramling Stabler (Moses) or her daughter Mary Martha Gramling m. Andrew Stabler (which I still can not prove, or find his parentage.) I am not sure he was a son of John Jacob. In 1830 Lexington Co., SC Lewis Stabler.Who is his parents? In 1830, Orangeburg Co., SC head of households, Christian, David, Lewis, and Moses. Are these brothers or cousins?I found 1850 Orangeburg, SC David Stabler 55, Mary A. 50, David Vastine 27, Henry Samuel 25, Madison 17, Eliza 16, J. Wesley 15, Margaret 10, Harriet 8. (Names lead me to believe this David is the son of Frederick Stabler, however I have also seen research that has John George with a son David born about the same time. 1880 census, Orangeburg, SC. David Stabler age 86 widowed, living with Madison 45 (his son) not married, Harriet 37-sister to Madison, Gevie A. Stabler 25 cousin, Eddy Stabler 6 cousin.
Close by:Henry Samuel 51 (son of David), Anna 45 wife, Samuel 16, Anna 13, Elizabeth 11, David 9, Frederick 6, Leuis K. 4 (Lewis Kaminer Stabler) His wife is Anna Mitilda Kaminer.I am pretty sure the family in 1830 are Moses' relatives. Does anyone know this family? My grgrgrandfather James Lemuel Stabler was either the son of Elizabeth K. Gramling and Moses Stabler or he was the son of Mary Martha Gramling and Andrew Stabler-I have found only one researcher that has him as the son of Elizabeth and Moses. But I can find no marriage of Mary Martha Gramling and Andrew Stabler. Please help.
