I am a Sri Lankan living in Canada. I have my partner who is a Canadian and her grand grand parents were lived in Sri Lanka and owned a Coffee Plantation. She is so interested in finding her great grandfathers.

I have some details of the daughter of that British person who owned the coffee plantation in Sri Lanka. Her name is DORIS MABBLE GUY (so the person should be guy) she was born in Sri Lanka / Colombo in 1898. Her parents died in Colombo or in Sri Lanka.

She was taken out of Sri Lanka when she was somewhere 6 years old.

Is there any way I can get some details. or do you offer any services to find such details. or if you can guide me to few places then i will be able to get some details directly.

This will be a great help and my partner and I will be in Sri Lanka in February to get more details.

Additional info received from Suvi on Oct 30 2003:

There was TEA PLANTER called HERBERT GUI or GUY who died in Sri Lanka in 1901. He was a doctor in army and gave up work to start a tea plantation. his wifes name was HELAN AMY WARD also died in Sri lanka in 1902.

They had two daughters. The one we are refering to is DORRIS GUI or GUY whos birthday was OCT 13 1894. This date may be somwhat colse but not sure of the acuracy of the date. She left Sri Lanka in 1903 and went to UK. She married to a Canadian and migrated to Canada.

Mr Herbert had a tea plantation in Sri Lanka and the family claims that they had a house in Colombo too which they do not know of much information.
