Thank you very much for the interesting web sites you have sent me .In fact I have got most of them as I am related through marriage to the Ondaatje family and to the de Melho family. On a recent visit to Sri Lanka , and after having read a book by A Aserrapa on the Chettie community I would like to learn more about Philip de Melho's' maternal greatgrandfather who was according to the book a very influential Dutch citizen by the name of de Melho.I have seen his gravestone at St Thomas Church in Colombo, but the writing on the stone is very worn out with age.Any info on this person would be greatly appreciated.Could the gravestone I saw be that of Fransisco de Melho?
