BRERETON

From: Roy Day <xjk91@dial.pipex.com

Could I ask what records, if any, have been found in Sri Lanka and how can they be accessed or information obtained?

My interest covers the perion from1828 to about 1910. Has anybody for example found any shipping records? My interest covers both army and tea planters. As for the latter has anybody found any records of trade organisations or schools where the foreign nationals sent their
children?

I do see that the LDS hold some records. Has anybody searched the birth marriages and deaths contained on films 1037384/5 with any success?

These only cover the period 1867 to 1897 - has anybody been able to locate earlier or later records?

As some background information I am UK based and live near Bristol and I am doing this research for a friend. My main areas of research are Kent, England for my name DAY and France and Australia for my wife LERPINIERE - yes they were Huguenots.

In Sri Lanka I am interested in the names BESTIC, WISDOM, FROST, KING and BRERETON.

Hope I haven't bored you.

Roy Day.
