Thank goodness!
I've found someone doing something with the Ohlmus name :-). I haven't had much luck tracing the Ohlmus origins back before 1760.

I have an original copy of the Journal of the Dutch Burger Union containing the Ohlmus genealogy - April 1939. First entry reads:

Jan Carel Ohlmus, born at Hildesheim, arrived in the ship "Amelisvaart", living in Ceylon 1760-1780.

The "BJ" Basil Joseph Ohlmus (snr) commented on above was my grandfather.
"BJ" Brian Jeffry Ohlmus (jnr) my Father.
